The State Security Service launched a criminal case against a 30-year-old Uzbekistani national Khudoyar Nuriddinov, named a member of an international terrorist organization, who has been publishing videos about the situation in Syria. He was declared wanted.
President of Uzbekistan signed changes to laws softening liability for violation of the ban on drone import and use. First-time violators will now be fined and not sent to jail. Adjustments are part of efforts to attract more tourists (there were cases of prosecution of tourists).
In Tashkent, a court has ordered that the defendants must pay 75.6 billion soums in moral damages to the families of 68 deceased and 16 injured children poisoned by the medications Doc-1 Max and Ambronol. Additionally, the court has mandated to reimburse the state for the Quramax bribe amount.
Last year 666 people in Uzbekistan were found guilty of sexual misconduct. Additional 48 people were sentenced for disseminating adult content. Liability for wrongdoing is in force since April 2023.
The minimum term of imprisonment among minorities might be lowered from six to one month. And they might not have a criminal record. Deputies are reviewing two amendments to Uzbekistan’s Criminal Code.
